On Feb. 9, 2016, Camas residents will have the opportunity to vote on a bond proposal for Camas School District. Why? We’re growing, we’re changing, and we’re wearing out our much-loved facilities.

This bond will fund several important building projects across Camas School District. It will not only create new traffic patterns and increased parking at Camas High School, but it also will make important improvements to safety, technology, and equipment across the district, add a third high-school option for our students, and extend both community involvement and preschool engagement through the renovation of the nationally acclaimed Garver Theater.

Then, please join us, Camas Citizens for Quality Schools, and
VOTE YES FOR CAMAS on February 9!
Every vote counts.

growth & opportunity

In responding to our growing population, Camas School District sees a tremendous opportunity to develop a new high school option for the students of Camas. Through a new 600-person school, students will have the chance to meet the same rigorous high-school benchmarks using project-based learning – a powerful, proven education model centered around integrated lessons and hands-on collaboration.

reinventing garver theater

The Garfield Building, which sits on the corner of Garfield & Ione in downtown Camas, was built in 1913 to house both Camas Senior and Junior High. Its theater was named in honor of Joyce Garver, a beloved art and drama teacher, who leads the choir above. The upcoming bond will breathe new life into this historic treasure through arts, early childhood eduction, and access for the entire community.
