MELISSA WILLIAMS • 2011 CHS GRADUATE
My experience in the Camas School District impacted my success in the future by constantly challenging me to reach for my potential. I was able to attend a Division 1 college on a full-ride basketball scholarship while also gaining a bachelor's degree in Biology, and now I am a professional basketball player in the 1st Division German women's basketball league. I was challenged in high school to perform both on the court and in the classroom to the highest of my abilities, and I've carried that attitude with me even after I left the halls of CHS. The experience I gained there shaped me into the person that I am today, and I believe it has played a huge role in my success in college and now on a professional level.
JOANNE & FRANK PINELLI
We bought a home and moved to Camas two years ago, after living in the Portland area for 23 years. Even though our two children are grown, one of the major reasons we wanted to live in Camas was because of the outstanding reputation of it's school district. We deeply value high-quality education; a well educated community offers us the opportunity to live around people who have similar values and to own a home in a city that maintains strong market demand. Both of these mean a great deal to us as we retire and grow our roots in a new community.
PHOEBE JUD • HAYES FREEDOM HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE
The staff at Camas schools work so hard to make sure that they are providing every resource they can because they want these kids to succeed. My teachers and the staff at Hayes Freedom High School always encouraged me to be myself and to think in unconventional ways. That helped develop me into who I am today.
BOB ENGEL • CAMAS COMMUNITY MEMEMBER & PAST CCS CAMPAIGN CHAIRMAN
Without quality Camas Schools, I honestly don't believe we would still be living here. The education our three daughters received here has set them up for success and provided them with a solid basis for continuing their education and establishing their careers. As parents, this was the No. 1 priority for Barb and me as we decided where to buy a home and raise our family. Now empty nesters, we still benefit from living in a beautiful, vibrant community that continues to grow and develop.
EVAN KLEIN • 2011 CHS GRADUATE
A yes vote for this bond is far more than a yes vote for Camas schools. The high quality of education is the core of our community, and it’s to credit for our influx of wonderful small businesses, new families, and aspiring young minds. The success of our school district is intertwined with all facets of our community, so to vote no for the progression of our schools is to vote no for the progression of our community. We have created something special in this town and it would be ludicrous to stop now. Vote YES!
